Support services
Support services are provided to women, children and young people both in the refuge and at the office.
For women living in the refuge this includes:
- Practical support e.g. filling in forms, accessing furniture, accessing benefit, contacting local agencies and contacting utility suppliers, advice and information, attending meetings to support the person
- Emotional support e.g. to cope with situation
- Monday group – this group is open to all women in the refuge however attendance is voluntary. The group is user-led and the agenda is set by the group. People come in to give talks, do different activities e.g. card making, bowling, swimming, shopping etc.
Support workers are usually available to residents in the refuge 9am-5pm, Monday - Saturday. Where people are identified as vulnerable, support workers make a point of seeing them every day, even on an informal basis. There is a support sheet for workers to record all contact with residents.

There is no on-call service except for maintenance at the refuge.
"I wanted to say just how grateful I am. Thank you so much. The help, support and kindness you have shown myself and my daughter over the past 14 months has been so much appreciated and will not be forgotten. Even on your days off you put yourself out to help us and we are both very grateful. Thank you so much."
